When it comes to travel retailing, Travelport likes to push the boundaries. Fortunately, so do their supplier partners, and their new agreement with Emirates is going to take retailing to a whole new level for you.
Here’s what your agency can look forward to.
Skip the Surcharge
Our agency customers will avoid the Emirates surcharge on GDS bookings, which will come into effect on 1st July 2021. You will be automatically upgraded to a dedicated EDIFACT channel. This is an alternative content distribution channel (similar to ATPCO) that will provide you with access to un-surcharged content, with parity with Emirates Direct Connects. All at no additional cost and no change to your current subscriber agreement.
Hello NDC
As part of the new agreement, our agencies will gain simpler access to Emirates NDC content, features, and functionality as they become available through our Travelport+ platform. So watch this space, because NDC content and services will gradually become accessible through Travelport Smartpoint and our enhanced APIs*.

The Legal Bit
• Subscribers’ participation in the Emirates Channel is also subject to any additional terms as may be required by Emirates.
• We reserve the right to remove subscribers from the Emirates Channel at any time at our sole discretion.
• To access NDC content and services (once these become available), subscribers will need to sign new NDC specific agreements with Emirates.
